First built as an experiment in Drupal by it's founder, he soon realized that he could better his time focusing on what mattered most to him and to leave the creation of his site to someone who specializes in doing so. It's all about efficiency in this day and age, focus on what you're good at and the parts that you are not, give to someone who specializes in that area.
